This book discusses the phenomenon of forgotten spaces in the downtown of the twin cities of Ramallah and Al-Bireh. This book aims to understand this phenomenon within the study area in order to provide an improvement and development framework. In the twin cities of Ramallah & Al-Bireh, which share the same center, the phenomenon of forgotten spaces is clearly demonstrated. In the center around Al-Manara square, the forgotten spaces cover a large area of lands that no concrete action was taken to improve them. These forgotten spaces are currently used as waste and garbage areas that affect negatively the overall city's environment and visual appearance. However, these spaces have the potential to improve open spaces quality within the study area if they are exploited in a proper way. The book clarifies the formation of the forgotten spaces through history, the main factors that led to their formation, their definition, their current conditions, characteristics, and typologies in order to achieve an appropriate framework for the revitalization of the forgotten spaces within the Twin cities downtown.
