What if you were born with no hands? Or a brain that made it hard to learn? Or both? Would you give up, sit around, complain, and watch life pass you by? Find out what Jack Elkan does in this true story about a boy's journey to the Special Olympics USA Games.

Autorenporträt
David Perry This is my fourth book for children and middle school kids. I was especially drawn to Jack's story and success and the importance of Unified Sports. My wife, Sue and I split our time between New York City and a house on an orchard in Vermont, where we can spend as much time as possible with our grandsons, Colden and Chase.Linda Gyrsting Elkan is on her third career. She practiced law for ten years in Washington, D.C. and then retired from that career to homeschool her four children. When the family moved to New Hampshire, she turned her attention to her writing, a long postponed passion. Besides helping Jack transition to adulthood, Linda is also raising five chickens, two cats, an orchard full of apple and peach trees, and one Olympic athlete.
