Autorenporträt
The idea for my children's Christmas book came to me when I was 21 years old after I read an informative article about trees and where they grow. For 50 years my storyline percolated in my head and every Christmas I would tell myself that this was the year that I would finally finish my book. I would jot down a few notes and draw a few illustrations, but they always ended up in a drawer only to be forgotten until the following Christmas. In my mind, my excuse for not finishing my book was that I was too busy with work and family, but after I retired I realized that those excuses were no longer valid. When I read about an individual in my area who had self published their own book, I did some research and finally decided that it was now or never if I ever wanted to see my book come to life. It wasn't an easy process, but at age 71, I'm now proud to be able to call myself an author.Christmas is a magical time for children as they dream about Santa and the presents he's going to bring them. I really hope they enjoy my book as much as I did writing it.
