Save guggul movement, started by Vineet Soni in 2008, is an ground level approach to conserve critical endangered plant Commiphora wightii. Through this movement, efforts were made to protect guggul plants through community-based and biotechnological approaches. This movement received warm appreciation by various organizations and conservation biologists across the world. Initially this conservation work got financial support from Sir Peter Scott Fund of International Union of Conservation of Nature (Switzerland).
