The stories of Secret Expressions describe characters who have suppressed their expressions and are suffering the consequences. In "Mind, Body and Soul," a woman obsessed with an Indian television star gets the chance to meet her idol and get to know him-but the secret he hides may tear them apart, and reality offers a sharp contrast to the glamour of the onscreen world. In "Hidden Inspiration," an otherwise successful young man deals with "emotional attacks" that often leave him helpless. But when he decides to raise his voice against a shocking rural tradition in order to save a young girl's life, he finds a well of inspiration and strength that he never expected. In this pair of short stories, characters who have hidden the most intense expressions of themselves deep within, deal with the consequences of the emotional storms that emerge from their secrets.
