This dissertation deals with the application of Estimation Theory in two fields viz. "Estimation of Common Mean" and "Estimation of the Size of a Finite Population". Both the fields already possess vast literature and still attract researchers for further challenging issues. We have tried to address some of these in this thesis which is divided into two parts. Moloy was born in December 1966 in Kolkata, INDIA. He graduated from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata in 1989 and later got his PhD in Statistics from University of Calcutta. For past 14 years Moloy is working as a Software Engineer at Kolkata. Moloy got married to Sudeshna in 2002.
