The term "coronavirus" is taken from the Latin corona, which means "crown" or "wreath" deriving from Greek called "garland, wreath". The term was coined by David Tyrrell and June Almeida who first noticed and studied human coronavirus. It was first used in 1968 by an informal association of virologist. Coronavirus and its strains are related to the subfamily of Orthocoronavirinae. It is associated with the family of Coronaviridae and order of Nidovirales and realm in Riboviria. These are enveloped viruses with positive single stranded RNA genome and nucleocapsid of helical symmetry.
