The book has four chapters to it. The former part of the first chapter aims to discuss the concept and history of ragging, the latter part deals with the reasons and effects of ragging on the victims. The chapter also discusses the influence of Bollywood on the current scenario of ragging in the nation. The last chunk of the first chapter discusses the popular forms of ragging that are prevalent in various Indian universities. The objective of the second chapter is to discuss the role of the Legislature, Executive and Judiciary in the prevention and prohibition of the practice of ragging. The penultimate chapter of the article, deliberates upon the problem of ragging through a study that has been done with a sample size of 100 students from various sections of the country. The study comprises of college students from various disciplines of higher education such as Commerce, Architecture, Humanities, Law and Medicine etc. The research experiment is a mixed bag of personal, social and legal questions, prepared to get a complete understanding of the present situation. The final leg of the article is divided into two parts, suggestions for the betterment of the present scenario.
