Augmenting fertility in buffaloes is the major thrust area because of the fertility loss and convincing reduction in buffalo population. To shorten calving interval and to increase the fertility, synchronization of ovulation with varying protocols seems to be a commonest approach. This book quotes synchronization of ovulation in pluriparous murrah buffaloes of subestrus and anestrus category based on the palpable ovarian structures. The experimental animals were subjected to ovsynch protocol and or ovsynch with CIDR combined protocol. The increased ovulatory response and expression of estrus which coincided with the conception rates were studied. Concluded that, use of Ovsynch protocol and CIDR combined with Ovsynch has resulted in the selection of dominant follicle for maturation, ovulation and conception their by increasing the fertility in the subestrus and anestrus buffaloes.
