    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    Lovely read

Where do I start? This was such a lovely read and I enjoyed so much about this book. 1) Martin is such a wonderful man. So caring, loving and authentically himself. Probably one of his best attributes is his ability to honestly reflect himself and his actions. I definitely fell in love a bit. 2) His relationship with his daughter is one of the best things in this book. I’m so glad that Olivia (the author) portrayed a healthy and loving father-daughter-relationship. 3) I sympathised a lot with Rose, and I’m so glad that she opened up to Martin. Her method’s for dealing with any attacks against her might not be what I would do but I can definitely understand where she’s coming from. 4) And lastly, the humor in this book is just great! I laughed so hard at some of the scenes. That’s definitely one of the author’s strongsuits. I so would have loved to give it 5 stars because in many ways it spoke to me more than Spoiler Alert but the ending felt rushed and not quite as authentic as the rest of the story. Also, there were a few far fetched and overly romantic scenes that just didn’t work for me in this book. However, I didn’t mind the silly and sarcastic bits as they fit well, and I’d say that’s the charm of this story. Also, it gave me a lot to think about, and as a plussized woman myself it sure hit home hard sometimes.
