Children will love these countryside stories of Henry, the adventurous mouse and his wildlife friends, and the delightful activities based on the characters from The Adventures of Henry the Field Mouse series. To complement the mousey tales, the activity pages are packed with animal-based fun including word searches, mazes, fascinating animal facts, spot the difference, and coloring pages. When Henry heads to the riverbank with his mice pals and their friend the water vole, a kingfisher shows them how to catch fish, and a regal swan and her cygnets explain their connections to the King. In the next chapter, the intrepid threesome joins Daisy the squirrel in the woods and finds a safe spot to watch a family of badgers playing in the leaves. Deciding to venture further afield, the adventurous mice creep into a barn in the next story and meet a family of bats. In the final chapter, Henry teams up with four mice pals to enjoy Midsummer celebrations at the village pub and have a narrow escape from a large ginger cat. These countryside tales will delight children aged 3-10 as they follow Henry's escapades beyond his home under the garden shed. This combination of story and activity book will be a wonderful addition to the bookshelves of children ready to read and solve puzzles independently and those content to look at the pictures while listening to a bedtime story of Henry's escapades. The beautifully illustrated pages, which include fun animal facts about many of Henry's friends, will encourage curiosity in the natural world as children learn a little about the appearance and habitats of different animals. Throughout this series of four delightful books, children will love how Henry makes friends with almost everyone- steering clear of those who might like him for their supper!Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Jo Coker is a 90-year-old retired florist and grandmother who always hoped her children and grandchildren would share her love of the English countryside. She grew up in rural England and started writing stories about Henry the field mouse when her grandchildren moved to Hong Kong, hoping they'd retain a connection to the countryside. Researching the lifestyles of the wild animals in her countryside tales has led to an increased respect for habitat conservation for mice, hedgehogs, squirrels, water voles, rabbits, foxes, moles and rural England. When not searching the local garden centres for a new plant, she is happy to relax with a good book and a hot cup of tea. She currently lives in a very active village in the Cotswolds and keeps busy knitting toys and blankets for local charities, as well as cute little mice to accompany her books.
