Nanoelements are the cornerstone of nanoscience and nanotechnology is nanomaterials. In recent years, research and development activities in the broad and interdisciplinary field of nanostructure science and technology have exploded worldwide. It has the potential to fundamentally change the way materials and products are manufactured and the variety and type of functions they can perform. It is already having a major commercial impact and this will undoubtedly increase in the future. Nanoscience and nanotechnology are multidisciplinary fields that deal with materials and processes at the nanoscale, using a range of components and often manipulating individual atoms. In this book, a new perspective on what the familiar periodic table can offer scientists studying nanomaterials, the classification, the various techniques of their synthesis and characterization, the correlation between the amazing unique physicochemical properties of the nanoelements of the periodic table, and their direct impact on the development of civilization and technologies in our modern lives.
