The city of Bouaké is located in the center of Côte d'Ivoire. It is experiencing galloping demographic growth. In proportion to this demographic phenomenon, there is a remarkable urban sprawl. This urban growth is taking place horizontally along the roads linking Bouaké to the rest of the country, and is paving the way for an urban development in rings. The speed with which neighborhoods are being created is giving planners a hard time. Despite the efforts made by the latter, some of Bouaké's neighborhoods present imperfections in terms of quality development. The mismatch between the rate of population growth and the rate of creation of recreational facilities highlights their deficit, resulting in the transformation of traffic routes for recreational purposes, particularly sports. Moreover, these bypassing measures in the face of the inadequacy of leisure infrastructures encourage quarrels that subject social cohesion to a risk of deterioration.
