Tef is a cereal crop extensively cultivated in Ethiopia. Though its area coverage is increaasing from year to year, it failed to produce its potential. This is attributed to several factors, especially logging problem that hinder its productivity and quality. In order to increase its productivity, various attempts were made using both conventional and modern breeding techniques. Accordingly, about 37 improved varieties have been released to the farming community. However, still its productivity remained below the potential yield. Hence, research efforts have been made to improve its productivity using both modern techniques and crop management options. Therefore, this paper attempts to review achievements of agronnomic research works conducted so far which could be used as a reference for further research works and/or for producers who are looking for recent improved technologies.
