Our life is part of an extraordinarily complex web of relationships. In order to engage in these relationships in a way that feels right to us, it is essential that we understand ourselves. But what does it actually mean to understand oneself? In this book, we inquire into this question together, so that if we comprehend deeply what it means to understand oneself, we can go on to understand ourselves without needing to follow the prescriptions of systems invented by others. Adnan grew up in the Himalayas and lives in Seattle, where he is doing his PhD in theoretical astrophysics and cosmology at the University of Washington. In his research, he is investigating if ours is the only universe, or possibly, one of many many in a much larger multiverse. He is captivated by the entirety of existence, beyond the artificial boundaries between mind and matter. Fortunately, one can only contemplate such questions for so long, thus for the most part, Adnan takes long walks, hikes in the Cascades, plays the sitar, dances, meditates, and writes.
