For Hebga, philosophy is "a characteristic effort at critical reflection on all human experience", including that related to phenomena deemed paranormal, to which he has devoted years of research and several writings. This book, entitled Comprendre les phénomènes paranormaux avec Meinrad Hebga (Understanding Paranormal Phenomena with Meinrad Hebga), echoes his philosophical reflections in La rationalité d'un discours africain sur les phénomènes paranormaux (The Rationality of an African Discourse on Paranormal Phenomena). I attempt to demonstrate that the epistemological status of triadic anthropology can constitute a paradigmatic horizon for the intelligibilization of paranormal phenomena. To achieve this, I propose, by way of prolegomena, an axiomatic basis of four conditions, namely: philosophical interest in these phenomena deemed paranormal, plural or open rationality, an interdisciplinary approach and a pluralist anthropology such as Hebga's triadic anthropology. Despite some controversy, this study, initiated by Hegba, deserves to be welcomed and explored in depth, to help find appropriate solutions for all these victims of witchcraft. This study is therefore of the utmost importance to us Africans.
