The nascent state of Jharkhand,India the study area, was created as the 28th state of the Indian Union with effect from November 2000. The state has one of the lowest urbanization rates in India and the present urbanization trends of the state shows localized concentration in few identified resource rich areas which leads to the fact that resource benefaction has a direct linkage with urbanization pattern of the state. This book deals with formulation of urban development strategy which should seek to improve overall developmental scenario of the state, integrating the role of various actors including the urban centers thereby creating a platform for better augmentation of the state resources and shaping up economically viable communities.This research will provide Jharkhand a path of progress so that the resources present will get a platform for better augmentation.
