Views at Dunkeld and Descriptive and Historical Sketches is a book written by Gershom Cumming in 1839. The book is a collection of sketches and illustrations of Dunkeld, a small town in Scotland. The sketches and illustrations are accompanied by detailed descriptions of the town's history, architecture, and natural surroundings. The book is divided into two parts. The first part contains 16 lithographic views of Dunkeld, including sketches of the town's cathedral, castle, and surrounding landscape. The second part of the book contains a series of descriptive and historical sketches of Dunkeld, detailing the town's history from its earliest days to the present. The author provides information on the town's architecture, including the cathedral, castle, and other notable buildings, as well as the natural features of the surrounding area, such as the River Tay and the nearby mountains. Views at Dunkeld and Descriptive and Historical Sketches is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history and architecture of Dunkeld, as well as for those interested in Scottish history and culture more broadly. The book provides a fascinating glimpse into life in a small Scottish town in the early 19th century, and is a testament to the enduring beauty and charm of Dunkeld and its surrounding countryside. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
