Autorenporträt
I initially started writing the book once I realized that the field of "career-discovery" was largely withdrawn from just about every school and college curriculum. I wanted to educate the public on the topic.I was first inspired by the writings of Carl Jung "the Undiscovered Self" as well as "Psychological Type" and Joseph Campbell idea's on "The Hero's Journey"Further, when I went to study psychology at colleges and universities, I found it to be more focused on neurosciences, anatomy of the brain, biology, genetics and the chemistry of brain, (Serotonin, Dopamine) Topics I did not find interesting. On top of not being interested in the conventional view of psychology it seemed to me. I would have to receive a PH.D or Master's degree to do any real work and make a decent living in the field of psychology. What I enjoyed were theories of mind, practical understanding on what makes people happy, the tenacity and strength of the human spirit, personality types and how they effect our every day decision-making.After going through over 350 hours of coaching training and personally coaching numerous clients, some referred to in this book. I decided to write out and share my well-researched and highly applicable ideas, complete with long a bibliography and all the works cited. After joining the SGI, A Buddhist organization, he was even more compelled to write and inspire others! in closing here is a quote from Daisaku Ikeda book "Human Revolution" Vol 2: "the 'power of the human spirit' is stronger than any atomic bomb.To transform this century of war into a century of peace, we must cultivate the limitless inherent power of human life." the process in doing this is human revolution, and becoming the hero in your own life. Thus the book talks about a coaching modality which uses the hero's journey as a structure. Please Enjoy!
