""Why A Rich Yankee Did Not Settle In California"" is a book written by Addison Awes Jr. in 1900. The book tells the story of a wealthy man from the northeastern United States who decides to travel to California in search of a new home. However, upon arriving in California, the man finds that the state is not what he expected. He encounters a variety of challenges, including high prices, difficult living conditions, and a lack of social connections. Despite these obstacles, the man decides to stay in California for a period of time, hoping that things will improve. However, after several months, he ultimately decides to return to the East Coast, where he feels more comfortable and secure. The book offers a fascinating glimpse into the experiences of early settlers in California and provides valuable insights into the social and economic conditions of the time. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
