This book shows a study for solving one of the biggest problems that doctors have in refugee camps. The specific goal of this book is to explain the design of a telecommunication system for a refugee camp, answering to a Doctors Without Borders' request. The camp is located in an isolated rural area where it is impossible to communicate to the Internet through terrestrial infrastructures, therefore satellite connection is needed. A local network has been designed, including both hardware and internal traffic's management, as well as the energy supply using solar panels. The local network must enable internal communication between doctors while the satellite backhaul must allow external communication. The global aim of the project is to contribute to the improvement of refugees' health trough the supply of communication services for doctors.
