In the works available on Henri Lopes, we can see that two directions interest the researchers: the first one gathers works dedicated to aesthetics and ideology, while the second one gathers researches that are interested in particular arts or media in Lopes. What was missing was a comprehensive study of the presence and significance of the arts and other media in the author's work. This study shows that the media impact Lopes' writing in its meaning-making process. Indeed, the intermedial practice is first of all a major preoccupation and a very conscious writing technique in Lopes' work, which shows a diversity and a plurality of media. Then, the media devices take part in the novelistic construction notably in the plot and in the setting up of the system of characters. Finally, the media are real expressions and languages that allow Lopes to give his own vision of the world. Applied to the work of Lopes, the intermediality presents very interesting results that go from the surface of the text to its meanings through their novelistic construction.
