Obstructive jaundice is more common among female, benign causes outnumbered malignant causes. Benign jaundice is prevalent in middle aged patients while malignant causes in older age group. Choledocholithiasis is the commonest cause of obstructive jaundice and metastatic gall bladder carcinoma is the commonest malignant etiology. USG, ERCP, MRCP and CT scan are important investigations to diagnose the causative factors of obstructive jaundice.
