As Indian agriculture is majorly depends on monsoon i.e. not a reliable source of water that means in dry areas or when a farmer is not aware of how to use water as there is too much of water storage or when there is no water storage, irrigation becomes monotonous. WSN and their application for precision agriculture is an automated irrigation system used to enhance the use of water for agricultural crops. A gateway unit manages the information related to sensors which triggers the actuators and then data is transmitted using GSM modem. For this purpose, a software application was developed by predetermining the threshold values of soil moisture, temperature and water level by programming into an ARM controller.
