They deal above all with commercial affairs. There are "name-i h mayuns," but also letters of "beylerbeyis" and "sancakbeyis" of the Balkan regions and of other lower Ottoman officials.

Autorenporträt
Maria Pia Pedani PhD History, University of Szeged. After many years spent working in the Venetian States Archives she is now Associate Professor of History of Islamic Countries in the University Ca' Foscari of Venice, Department of Historical Studies. She taught History of the Ottoman Empire in the PISAI (Pontificio Istituto di Studi Arabi e Islamistica) in Rome.
