The first part of the book focuses towards the configuration of secure servers and services over a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 system. With the advent of client-server based systems, comes in the need to secure and monitor of the devices and activities in the network. For this purpose, the second part of the book deals in platform independent network monitoring with the help of OpenNMS. It will not only save the cost of maintenance, but also help in securing the server against malicious activities in the network. The third and the final part of the book deals with the remote controlling/troubleshooting of the systems in the network. Since, majority of users in the network tend to use Microsoft Windows as the Operating System of their machines, thus, a special technique to control systems from a website (Botnet) is implemented. This is a vital utility which really comes in handy when comes to troubleshooting.
