Beatrix Potter, geb. 1866, aufgewachsen im viktorianischen England. 1901 eröffnete 'Die Geschichte von Peter Hase' das große Potter-Epos, 22 Geschichten folgten, alle von der Autorin mit ganzseitigen farbigen Bildern und vielen Schwarzweiß-Vignetten geschmückt (die Tate Gallery in London verwahrt ihre Zeichnungen und Gemälde). Die Autorin verstarb 1943.
