Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. UBC Loop is a major public transit exchange point in the University Endowment Lands adjacent to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It mostly serves students, staff and faculty members of the University of British Columbia. The loop is part of the TransLink system and currently contains two temporary bus loops: one for trolley buses and one for diesel buses (the north bus loop). These loops replaced the old bus loop to make room for a new underground bus loop. The new underground bus loop is slated to be built beside the Student Union Building, on the site of a small mound called "The Grassy Knoll". The Grassy Knoll is planned to be removed for that purpose a plan that is unpopular with a few students of UBC. Several students were arrested after a protest turned into a showdown with police in April 2008. In addition to this, a peaceful protest comprising of several artistic structures was destroyed by an unknown vandal several weeks later.
