Simon Baron-Cohen ist Professor für Psychologie und Psychiatrie am Trinity College der University of Cambridge und Direktor am Zentrum für Autismusstudien. Er forscht seit über zwanzig Jahren zum Thema Autismus und Geschlechtsunterschiede. Er veröffentlichte eine Vielzahl an wissenschaftlichen Artikeln
