Education is to cater to the holistic development of the students in the pursuit of their goals and teachers in schools and colleges play a significant role. They have to take care of the effective (emotional) dimension of the students besides the stress on academic excellence. This calls upon the teacher to be first and foremost as to be able to draw out the emotional intelligence of the students. Students' unrest, rates of teen suicides, pregnancies, drug addiction, broken families, etc. for example are given much importance but sufficient effort is not made in our educational institutions to develop emotional intelligence. Educators, trainers, and researchers have long been interested in exploring variables contributing effectively for quality of performance of learners. These variables are inside and outside schools that affect students' quality of academic achievement.
