In recent years, the thin film science has grown world-wide into a major research area. Thin films of semiconducting materials are of great importance due to their wide use in many solid state devices. Elements of II-VI group are attaching a great deal of attraction because of their potential abilities in the wide spectrum optoelectronic devices. High absorption coefficient, high efficiency of radiated recombination and nearly matching band gap with the visible region of the solar spectrum are the root causes of the popularity of II-VI group semiconductors.
